MCHS Ceramics class RAKU fire

MCHS ceramics students will be participating in a raku firing workshop on May 7th.  Tim Pfifner, from Great Lakes Clay will be conducting the all-day event.  Raku firing is an outdoor activity using a specially designed kiln.  Raku firing produces unexpected and unusual effects on the surface of the pottery, and requires the potter to use a strong clay body and specially formulated glazes.  Tim will also be coming to MCHS in April to demonstrate how to throw on the pottery wheel.
