Online Portfolios are required for all art classes beyond Art Fundamentals.
You may choose any free site you like to create your portfolio. Weebly, Wix, Wordpress, Google and Carbonmade are all good options.
You should choose one site for all of your art classes. You can create separate galleries for each class.
***You should choose a name for your site that is appropriate for a PROFESSIONAL portfolio...please don't use your last name in the name of the site. Do not publish your site until you have returned your permission slip. You may build and save the site prior to publishing it or making it public--I suggest waiting to publish until you have the site pretty well built. Wix will allow you to keep your site private if you do not wish search engines to find it. Wordpress will do the same, and it will allow you to choose who views your site if you want it totally private (you have to allow me to view it though).
What do I include in a Personal Artist Statement?
Your PAS should address your views as a student artist. Some topics to consider might include the following:
What role does art play in your life?
Why do you make art...what is the purpose of your art?
What type of art do you enjoy making?
What do you hope to learn in your art classes...what are your goals as an artist?
What other writing do I need to include in my portfolio?
You should include a description for each project image you upload. You can include a link to an artist statement, either via Google docs or you can link to a document that you've uploaded. You should include any writing assignments that we have done for the class, such as critiques or research projects. You may want to create a separate menu for your art critiques or research papers.
